The original concept of “Glamour Gals” was created during a whirlwind episode of party gift shopping for a very special shower!

Being “ in charge of” picking out the bridal shower centerpieces for the dinner tables, and not wanting the usual flower arrangements that would wilt and then be thrown out, many ideas were being discussed.

“We should be looking for something to remember, something really special from our hearts to depict growing up; imagine our little girls all grown up, but still having the loving fun of a child, now they are coming to a bridal shower!

Then one day a great thought popped into our heads! Why not make dolls for the centerpieces, lovely lady dolls. After all, the young and old ladies, the mothers, the aunts, the cousins’ and bridesmaids, were all little girls once upon a time, playing with dolls and making believe. Did it mean that now that they were adults, they did not like dolls anymore, of course not!

So it was decided. These dolls should be lovely lady dolls, Glamour Gals that could be kept as memories and showpieces.

The Glamour Gals should be mirror images of what we as children had grown up to be, and of all the things we now love.
Garden gals, teacher gals, shopper gals, fussy gals, business gals, all sorts of gals! And each Gal should have a story about where she came from or what she was doing when the invitation came, happy to join her family and friends ready to welcome the new bride into the fold.

Material was gathered, flowers and feathers bought. Designs were developed; and before you knew it they were sewed, accessorized and placed exactly where they should be….on every dinner table, listening and laughing with the guests, on the window ledges looking out for the surprise guest of honor, in the ladies room holding the tissues { ladies cry when they are happy you know}, and of course on the gift table, trying to peak in the packages.

The tables were wonderful, and the Glamour Gals were the talk of the town.

But the best part was when the party was over, and the guests were leaving, able to take home a Glamour Gal , just as we had hoped. Wonderful memories were made, exactly as planned.
